I have now finished my Augmented Reality Campus Map application simulation, which is featured in the embedded video below.
I went out earlier in the brilliant weather to get some longer, more demo friendly footage to help convey my application. Using a few shots from around the campus I managed to cover most of the buildings in the simulation to get a true representation of what the app will be able to do, and how it will work and look.
University related buildings are in a metallic black POI 'balloon', bars and pubs are in an orange POI 'balloon' and student union areas are in blue POI 'balloons'. For the full app more POIs could be included such as ATMs, restaurants etc, but as I wanted it to mainly relate to university life maybe club/society areas could be included in further versions of the app, or even coursework hand in offices!
Overall I am very pleased with the outcome of this assignment as it not only looks great, conveys a (what I feel) brilliant concept but also has got me using tracking technologies in After Effects which has opened a whole new realm of ideas and possibilities for future projects.
