Finished this project today, after a successful projection.
The visualisation was done. It used an external RSS feed form the Dance Academy news feed from 'the herald', one of Plymouths local newspapers.
Shown below the animation started with a curtain draw, to pay homage to the Dance Academy's theatre past and also to act as a good transition in, and out of the animation. Next just plain text begins to talk to the viewer in a level way to get the viewers attention whilst they are waiting at the traffic lights. Then the controversial text about Ecstasy being available at the club highlighting its dodgy past which led to its closure and imprisonment of management and the building owner.
When it came about to documenting the piece we made sure all our equipment and hacked electronics were working before loading up processing and using code acquired from tutorials online were able to get the animation to play once the LDR was exposed to (fairly) bright light. To get the LDR setting of, we held it to one of the lights and it worked very well. Using my DSLR to film the projection we were able to get a sense of what the finished piece would be like and I am confident it would work great being projected onto the side of the Dance Academy in the possible near future.
