Last ever University project over. Deja Route is done and dusted! Its been a really great project to work on and I am really pleased with the end result. I am quite keen to add a few more routes to the Layar when I have the time as it would be cool to hear of other people using it! If I was to make the Layar even better I would allow users to select what difficulty routes they would like to see, as currently I don't mind the ability to jump onto the other runs (if you feel you can run further) as this is perfectly manageable as there are only 3 routes. But with added routes it could start to get cluttered to a selection area would have to be implemented if it was to go further.
So anyway, here is the project video again for your viewing pleasure!
"Deja Route aims to bring users a brand new running experience. Instead of using maps to display a route from A to B, Deja Route uses Augmented Reality and markers. These markers are positioned around the environment that - once a user is close enough (20 meters) - will play a short bit of footage showing the route to the next marker from a first persons perspective. The footage acts like an artificial recollection of the route so that when the user actually runs along the route they have already seen, it will create a sense of deja vu in the users subconscious."
